About Us
Boresite heavy duty wall fixings are a patented product designed by Peter Brown, an engineer who was frustrated with the solutions available on the market. Becoming a father, having to move house 4 times in 4 years and having to childproof then de-childproof each of these houses highlighted the issues with the products available in the market. He realised the biggest issue was with the installation process, having to find the right size drill bit, get the hole the correct size (not as easy as you think) and in the correct position, then use the setting tool, unscrew the screw, re-screw then the screw through whatever he was hanging, seemed too inefficient.

As an engineer in the aerospace industry, Peter was trained to analyse problems and come up with a solution. He came at the problem from how to make the installation easier. Watching his wife trying to hang her calendar up, using thumb tacks into a plasterboard wall. That’s when it dawned on him, what if he could make a fixing that pushes into the wall and could potentially re-use the same hole over and over? So he made a prototype out of his son's Meccano to test the concept, and it worked.

Following a patent search and 2 years later a granted patent and multilple 3D prototypes, Peter's idea was ready for commercialisation. He worked with a UK manufacturing company, Melton Plastics Ltd., to fine tune the design and agreed for them to manufacture and sell Boresite wall fixing under license. Boresite's first version for 12.5mm plasterboard walls was launched in first quarter of 2025 with an array of more products in the pipeline.
